The MacStars® program performs the necessary analysis for reinforced wall projects with TRESMA® elements. Based on the properties of the ground (internal friction angle, cohesion and specific weight) and the profiles and loads (concentrated, distributed, seismic action, etc.), the program allows analysis of Global Stability, Internal Stability, Overturning and Slipping for Reinforced Earth structures. The methods used in the calculations refer to the Balance Limit Method.
When the walls to be built exceed a specific height, it is necessary to combine the TRESMA® elements with reinforcement geomeshes. The geomeshes will have a primary reinforcement function while the TRESMA® will be the secondary reinforcement.
The vertical spacing between the reinforcements is determined by the design to be able to guarantee the resistance to shear stress.
Applications with granular filling material:
• MacGrid® WG woven geomeshes
• Geomeshes of ParaGrid® and ParaLink® strips
Applications with cohesive filling material:
• Geomeshes of ParaDrain® draining strips
The geomeshes in the MacGrid® WG family are woven type structures or meshes in rectangular or square shaped mesh. The filaments comprising the geomesh are high tenacity polyester and are covered by a protective layer of PVC.
The ParaGrid®, ParaLink® or ParaDrain® type geomeshes are structures formed by main flat bands, in the lengthwise direction, connected together by thermo-welded sideways bands. Each strip is comprised of bundles of high tenacity polyester fibres covered with polyethylene. The lengthwise strips for the ParaDrain® geomeshes have a channel inside to train water that is separated from the ground by means of a strip of non woven geotextile connected to the reinforcement strip. The final result is a resistant geomesh characterised by a high drainage capacity.
