Polythene is a semi-crystaline polymer of the parafin type, with a saturated molecular chain that is comprised exclusively of carbon and hydrogen. This structure guarantees the absolute non-biodegradation and insolubability in any chemical, organic and liquid medium at environment temperature. MacLine® geomembranes are comprised of 100% raw high density polyethylene (HDPE). The addition of smoke black assures a high resistance to aggression by UV rays for years. Due to their versality, MacLine® geomembranes offer a series of engineering solutions that would be impossible to achieve with conventional materials.
MacLine® GCL geocompounds for waterproofing cover a wide range of waterproofing sheets of montmorillonite sodium bentonite. That mineral has unique physical characteristics that allow it to absorb an enormous amount of water with a volumetric expansion of up to 15 times its initial volume. In order to be able limit expansion of that material and to provide it low permeability characteristics, the bentonite has been confined between two geotexiles, thus forming a geocompound. The MacLine® GCL has a very low permeability and a unique auto-sealing capacity. The range includes several types of products with different mechanical and hydraulic ccharacteristics. The scopes of use of this category of geosynthetics are multiple and intended for works in which a high level of waterproofing is required, along with great ease of installation.
